AURPO is a professional association run by volunteers with a membership that primarily consists of radiation protection / safety professionals that work in higher education, research and teaching establishments. Its principal aim is to increase knowledge and understanding of radiation protection through the promotion and interchange of information and best practice. The Association is consulted by a number of Government and other organisations responsible for drafting new legislation and guidance on various matters relating to all aspects of radiation protection.
The Association holds a Conference and Annual General Meeting each year during the first week of September. Please keep an eye on the upcoming events for information.
The Association of University Radiation Protection Officers was founded in 1961 with the object of promoting safety and knowledge in the use of ionising and non-ionising radiations.
